SCHOOL EMBRACING FACEBOOK TO ATTRACT NEW PUPILS

first_imgGartan School hopes to attract new pupils.A small Donegal primary school has set up a new Facebook page in the hope of displaying all it has to offer any prospective pupils.Gartan National School in Churchill currently has 19 pupils bout is hoping to attract more.Head Teacher, Ms Caroline Carey said “Gartan National School currently has 19 pupils and we are keen to get the school some local exposure to boost enrolment numbers in September.” Gartan NS has a proud history.The school has an enrolment evening on Wednesday 11th March between 7.00pm and 8.30pm and would welcome all parents to come and see the school, examples of pupils work and chat to staff.And Ms. Carey said “We would be very grateful if you would all Like and Share our new Facebook page www.facebook.com/gartanns you will be entered into competition TO WIN A €20 SHOP LK voucher, with the winner to be drawn on St Patrick’s Day, and announced on our Facebook page.”“As a small school, we hope our new Facebook page will allow the community to see the excellent work our pupils produce, give an insight into our school ethos, and more than anything else, demonstrate the fun we have learning together” Ms Carey said.Gartan NS celebrated their Centenary year in 2011, and during research for this came across the old Corporal Punishment Record Book dating back to the 1920’s.
