Franklin County Commissioners recognize 911 dispatchers

first_imgFRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — The Franklin County Commissioners recently signed a proclamation recognizing April 9 through April 15 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.The commissioners say dispatchers play a critical role in protecting the public.They answer calls to 911 and are the link between law enforcement, fire, EMS, and the public.They also provide communication services to the various police departments, sheriff deputies, volunteer firemen, and EMS responders.In 2016 Franklin County dispatchers answered more than 16,000 calls.last_img
