Along with NAMILCO, under its Thunderbolt brand, GFF is running off the National Under-17 League in several associations.Over the past month or two, several teams added points to their tally as a result of their opponents’ failure to show up for their respective fixtures, and this has been the trend in most associations.The latest series of walk-over victories occurred over the past weekend.In the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) leg of the tournament, Mahaica Determinators added three points to their tally without breaking a sweat against Buxton Stars.The same pattern occurred in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) leg where Den Amstel benefited from three points as their opponents Beavers failed to make an appearance.In the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) leg, it was no different as Order and Discipline were a no-show for their match against Santos.Meanwhile, in results from matches played over the weekend, Buxton United beat Ann’s Grove 3-0 on Saturday at the Grove Community Centre ground.Niyon Robertson, Troni Semple and Clint Headley scored for the winning team in the 8th, 9th and 21st minute respectively.Playing at the same East Coast Demerara venue, Golden Stars blanked Victoria Kings 4-0 through a double from Ceyon Montrose in the 4th and 58th minutes, while Shawn Adonis and Michael Wood scored one goal each in the 61st and 68th minute respectively.In the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) leg, Fruta Conquerors mauled Eastveldt 6-0 and Pele edged Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 1-0.On the West Side (WCD), Eagles beat Slingerz by a 2-0 margin and are now placed third in the league with nine points.Beavers, who are now fourth in the points standings, also have nine points, but Eagles have a better goal difference.last_img
