Klint Kesto today applauded the Jewish Ensemble Theatre (JET) on their receiving a $15,000 grant from the State of Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). JET was one of 559 applications to compete for MCACA fiscal year 2016 funding.JET holds the distinction of being the longest, continuously running professional Jewish theatre in North America, with 27 years of operation. Rep. Klint Kesto applauded the grant.“The Jewish Ensemble Theatre’s cultural impact on our community is immeasurable,” said Rep. Kesto, R-Commerce. “Through drama, JET enlightens us on both historical and contemporary sociopolitics. The Theatre has not only carved out their own artistic niche, but has also brought a needed voice and perspective for those of Jewish heritage.”Rep. Kesto expects that the theatre will receive more rewards in short order.“With nearly three decades of performances, JET keeps going strong,” Rep.
