Tony Drileba (17) and Ben Komakech (11) were the others who registered double figures in terms of scoring while Landry Ndikuma was big on the boards, collecting a game high 18 rebounds.Warriors on the other hand lost but had two players register double doubles on the night with Saidi Amisi managing a game high 26 points and 10 rebounds while Stanley Mugerwa scored 10 points and as many boards. The biggest disappoint for Mutebi’s side was their bench which managed just 13 points. In the other day’s game, UCU Lady Canons took a 2-1 lead in their Ladies division playoff semi final with KCCA Leopards thanks to a 77-71 victory.Rose Akon was the star of the show as she registered another double double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. On the other side, Martha Soigi was unfortunate to end up on the losing side after she threw down 25 points while shooting 11-16 from the field.Comments Tags: city oilersFUBA NBL 2019James OkelloMandy JuruniRonnie MutebiSaidi AmisiWarriorslast_img read more

Weatherization Training Center Doubles in Size, Triples in Training Capacity

first_imgOne encouraging symptom of the Weatherization Assistance Program’s stimulus-funded expansion is the recently upgraded Weatherization Training Center at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, in Williamsport. The $100,000 improvement project – which, a recent Associated Press story points out, took about five months to complete and will be paid for through state-administered federal funding programs – includes two dedicated, multimedia-equipped classrooms; two similarly equipped classrooms that can be used for weatherization training; a weatherization tactics lab; a weatherization diagnostics and energy conservation lab; and office space for instructors and support staff. The enhancements have almost doubled the 24-year-old center’s floor space, to 16,000 sq. ft., and will help significantly increase the number of trainees the facility can accommodate each year, from about 300 to more than 1,000, PCT’s president, Davie Jane Gilmour, told the AP.Added training center director John Manz: “It’s an outstanding facility. It’s arguably the best in the U.S.”The demand for well-trained weatherization workers is there, notes Gilmour. Largely as a result of increased federal funding – and mandates – for programs that improve energy efficiency in residential buildings, more than 29,000 housing units in Pennsylvania alone are expected to be weatherized over the next three years.last_img read more
