The pair says they were “looking forward to a new challenge” when they discovered Fiji and found a new opportunity at Crusoe’s Retreat.“We were amazed by the healthy and pristine coral reefs just minutes away from the beach.” The couple are developing their own Shark Dive with a method different from any other operators in Fiji which would be appropriate for more experienced divers looking for the thrill of a close encounter with the many different species of sharks that inhabit the waters of the Coral Coast.According to Gabriel this experience is for experience divers only, with at least 30 logged dives under their belt. “We go out off-shore, about three to fi vekilometres, where we hang a drum below the boat on a line fulfilled with ‘yummy’ fish food.“The sharks are attracted by this smell. “While waiting on board, divers receive a safety briefing given by our professional Dive Team. As soon as we see sharks from the surface we get into the water and stay below at a maximum of 15m depth in controlled buoyancy,” said Gabriel.“Being away from shore, we have the chance to encounter Oceanic White Tip sharks, Bull sharks, Silver Tips, Silky sharks, Tigers, Hammerheads and so on… we never know in advance what we’ll find out there, which makes this trip a real exciting and thrilling adventure, where our guests encounter sharks very close in their natural environment!”In addition to the experienced dive couple, shark expert Brandon Paige has also joined the team recently, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge about these extraordinary creatures to help make the unforgettable experience of diving with sharks both safe and thrilling! So if you’re planning an unforgettable Fijian experience for your next holiday, book your stay at the idyllic Crusoe’s Retreat now, and pay Coral Coast Divers a visit during your stay for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of exploring the world beneath the waves!last_img read more
